Kinks/squicks for the purposes of anon fests:
I read just about anything, provided there's at least a hopeful ending.
I like fluff, I like angst, I like cliches, I like creatures. I have a (not-so) secret love of mpreg!Draco, bottom!Draco and infidelity fics just tend to do it for me (particularly unfaithful!Harry). Overt or implied D/S is thumbs up, and I'm not bothered by dubcon. I love Epilogue Compliance, I love next-gen kids. I like Hogwarts-era, I like 8th-year, I love adult!H/D.
I don't usually like muggle!au. I don't really like cross-gen. I usually avoid non-con. I dislike most bashing fics. Angst-with-kids turns me into a blubbering idiot and I often run away from it, likewise with unhappy endings and darkfic. There are exceptions to the above rules, but they're kinda rare and special.
Girly!H/D makes me twitch-in-the-bad-way 100% of the time, I'm not reading H/D for het-with-HD-names. That tends to be pretty much my universal. Likewise severe OOC. I want to recognize the characters, damnit.
Cross-dressing is not my thing-- it doesn't bother me, but I really don't get the appeal of Draco-in-frilly-knickers. Likewise with genderbending.
I have no rating preferences, I like G-rated pre-slash that ends with the first kiss just as much as I like PWP.
Note: on semi-hiatus as of Feb 2013 due to aftermath of bellyburster 2. Sporadic attempts to keep somewhat up with reading/reccing is about all I'll probably manage until June/July at the earliest. But I love and miss you all! *clings*

anxious
Rather fallen off the reccing wagon, life has just been so busy I can choose between reccing and writing and have been choosing writing. (Though, the likelihood of finishing WIP in time for fest closing is... um. 13k in ~6 weeks and maybe 1/3 done? *cough* yeah. um.)
But! I have recs!
I know people may not be following Dark Arts too well. I know I'm not; I'm a H/D shipper and general HP fests usually don't do it for me as much. But there's been some amazing stuff posted. Amazing, heartbreaking stuff that I just love love love to bits. It all seems to follow the theme of Draco's heartbreak, which isn't intentional on my part.
And now for something completely different. I'm also following the mpreg fest. (I know, big surprise. me and mpreg.)

Title: In Death’s Dream Kingdom
Author: ???
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Harry/Draco, Neville
Word count and/or medium used: ~7.5K
Warnings: *Major character death*
Summary: 'We need to get going,’ Harry says. ‘We have a lot to do if we want to finish what we started.'
Notes: The fest started with a bit of a bang for me with this fic. It was lovely and heartbreaky and gorgeous. Draco was wonderful here; I really felt for him.
Title: Frightful the Storm
Author: ???
Rating: R
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Word Count: 3500
Warnings: Everything you'd expect in Frankenstein: character death, body horror, dark magic. Plus some sexual situations for good measure.
Summary: It is true, we shall be monsters, cut off from all the world; but on that account we shall be only more attached to one another.
Notes: This fic was very interesting. Like the above, it tells the story of Draco dealing, or more specifically NOT-dealing with Harry's death. There's also a really clever bit of Hallows lore added in that FEELS canony. Altogether lovely.
Title: The Heart of the Manor
Author/Artist: ???
Rating: R
Pairing(s)/Character(s): Harry/Draco, Blaise
Word count: ~4k
Warnings: Creepiness?
Summary: In his efforts to remove the taint Voldemort left on the Manor, Draco hires a team of Curse-Breakers. But what will happen when they stumble upon something older and more insidious than simple Dark magic?
Notes: This fic killed me. In all the best ways. The fractured storytelling worried me when it first jumped, I wondered if it would make it hard to follow. It didn't. And this MA can have my heart on a platter to destroy again any time she wants, because as painful as this is, it is so very beautiful. Definitely going to be stalking this one. Seriously one of my fav fics this year.

Title: Pretence
Author/Artist: ???
Rating: NC-17
Word Count/Art Medium: 7450.
Contains: Minor character death before the story, mention of abortion and botched abortion (not Draco). Pregnant!sex, drunk!sex (not at the same time) and dirty talk.
Summary: Harry tries to pretend it isn't his fault.
Notes: I'll admit I like this trope. Harry leaves Draco because he wants a family and thinks the only way he'll get it is with the girl and oops Draco's pregnant. This is that kinda fic. But it's also not, because it spends a lot of time illustrating how Harry *knows* he's going about things the wrong way, but is lacking in certain key bits of information; and Draco doesn't know that and takes everything entirely too personally. And.. okay, yes, this is trope. But it's a trope I love and I really loved this.
Title: Anything But Ordinary
Author/Artist: ???
Word Count/Art Medium: ~38,000
Rating: NC-17
Contains: infidelity
Summary: "I got someone pregnant," he said. "Draco Malfoy to be specific."
Notes: Yay infidelity fic? I know, I know. Infideltiy plus pregnant Draco equals double plus plus good for Marianne. And I'm very very glad that this fic lived up to all my good feelings for it going into things. Because it would *suck* if it started out that promising, all prepped for me to love it, and then ended with me hating it because it fell flat on the delivery. But no, this is a fully Epilogue Compliant With Kids infidelity fic that was entirely as good as my feelings for it going in. So *double plus plus good thumbs up yay!*

WIP stats
part 1: ~9,000 words / draft 1 complete
part 2: ~1,500 words / draft 1 in progress
part 3:
This is already looking to be longer than anything else I've written. I mean, I'm certain this could do with a good editing, and there are probably a few thousand words that could be dropped and leave a tighter story... but part 1 is really just the background bulletpoints. Setting the scene. All the action (except well, except) happens in p2.
So why did I contact the fest mods and say if it's done in a month, I'll totally submit it for posting? (spoiler alert:
harrydracompreg)
(in other news, I'm totally proud of myself for getting about 10k words written in about 6 weeks. I feel pretty awesome considering. However, saying it like that totally blows the "get this done in a month" idea. Unless it happens anyway. Which it will, if I can keep momentum.)
Also, question for people who have separate pre-readers/betas, do you advertise for betas when you're at the "part 1 is done" stage? Poke each time you complete something? or do you wait until it's all complete and do it all at once? *has no idea*

Another personal glomp for
capitu. Because she is awesome and a tireless cheerleader. I'm giving her porn, just because. Even though I suck at porn and OH GOD WHY DID I DECIDE TO DO PORN FROM 3RD PERSON NEAR-ENOUGH-TO-BE-PRACTICALLY-FIRST-PERS ON POV?
*flails*
Title: Oh Merlin
Author:
eidheann_writes
Summary: Firewhisky. He remembers that much.
Word Count: ~850
Rating: NC17
Warnings: unbeta'd. Fail!porn. hungover!Draco!logic. Also silly (not sure why these are all going silly, I'm much better with angst)
Disclaimer: They're not mine. They belong to someone else. This is for fun not profit, etc.

Last week was pretty hellish for writing. Well, no, it was rough in the way I was expecting finding time post-Beth to write would be rough until the end of summer. And yes, Beth's fault, etc. Basically most of a week of not-napping, not wanting to fall asleep at night, and anyone but me holding her = screaming hysterics, so husband couldn't even spell me effectively.
She didn't even want me to READ. Or look at anything but her. (Have I mentioned I hate growthspurts?)
I mean, I got some writing done. Which is good. Just hard when I was expecting (hoping) for more.
But she's asleep now (thank you god) and I've some reading to do and then some attempts at scavenging the wee bit I wrote on the WIP to see if any of it is usable/usable with edits/trash. And maybe actually get some writing done.
(In related news, if the wip ends up my usual length, I'm swiftly approaching the halfway mark on wordcount. I have no idea how long it's going to end up being in the draft, however. Most of my stories seem to feel intro-heavy, so what could be considered the halfway mark on the story itself seems to fall closer to 2/3 of the way through. That being said, this... doesn't feel half through. Not by a long shot. I mean, I know the beginning, I know the end, and I know a lot of the stuff between. But there's a lot of handwavey "and then stuff happens" still on the horizon.

I had an idea a while ago... Sometimes people trigger thoughts and prompts and don't even know it. Sometimes they're just awesome. So I thought I'd have a mini-glomp fest just for me. I was gonna save 'em all up, but I need a break from my WIP and I'm impatient anyway. So... This. Just a little unbeta'd silly piece of drabblishness dedicated to
omi_ohmy, for posting the link that inadvertently triggered the thought (and who I owe glomps to like whoa anyway), and
oakstone730 who had the poor taste to say something along the lines of "YES!" Thank you both for always chattering at me on twitter, and being patient with all the baby pictures and nonsense. Love you both and *glomps*
Title: For The Department of Wizarding Standards
Author:
eidheann_writes
Summary: It's time for the Decennial Survey of All British Wizarding Standards. Heroes included.
Word Count: ~350
Rating: P for painful. er, I mean, PG-ish for implication? Totally not smutty.
Warnings: A fluffy, silly, dialogue-fic filled with Draco!logic. Oh, and it's unbeta'd.
Disclaimer: They're not mine. They belong to someone else. This is for fun not profit, etc.

So, last week everyone had the plague. Which was (oddly) horrible for my reading productivity but wonderful for my writing. Seriously, I'm like 5500ish on my wip in 3 weeks.
I did worse before 2 kids with different nap schedules hit.
It was enough that, early in the week at least, I was starting to wonder if I'd finish before the fest I gakked the prompt from even started posting. Because if I maintained the current rate...
(Needless to say, that didn't happen. Second half of the week involved my time to write dropping to nil.)
But my reading has fallen behind. I have a stack of Remix and Draco!Tops that are still on my to-read pile (I know! Remix!) and I don't really see that changing. Well, no, that sounds like not-what-I-mean. I'm half-heartedly keeping up, but the stuff in my to-read pile is probably going to stay in my to-read pile. And join new things in my to-read pile. Just because it's starting to look a lil intimidating.
I'm also on a bit of a comfort read kick. Well, comfort re-read, pulling out some old fav fluffy and flangsty fics.
(They make me look at my writing and shake my head and sigh. I still have such a long ways to go. But they help give me a boost as to why I love the pairing and fandom so very much. I count it a net win.)

Not perhaps as much as I'd like. Current WIP is getting poked 1-2 times per week (for all of... uh, 2 weeks now *cough*) and I'm hoping that I can keep momentum with that sporadic of a schedule.
Of course, I'm also averaging ~1200 words per week. And at this rate, I *may* have it finished by the end of the year!
(which makes me glad and fistshakey both that I'm not signed up for fests. cause fests are fun, deadlines are GOOD, and yeah.)
OH, and guys remind me... After I finish this wip, I totally need to do a non-angsty, no-warnings-needed kinda fic.
Cause seriously.
Of course, I'm also averaging ~1200 words per week. And at this rate, I *may* have it finished by the end of the year!
(which makes me glad and fistshakey both that I'm not signed up for fests. cause fests are fun, deadlines are GOOD, and yeah.)

Title: A Dream of Waking (pt 1/2)
Author:
eidheann_writes
Adapted from: The Painted Veil
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Blaise/Draco
Summary: "You always were contrary. Had I known you’d jump into an engagement with the first person you spoke to after our little tête-à-tête, I might have been gentler with my persuasion."
Word Count: ~16,000
Rating: NC-17
Contains:angst, infidelity, mpreg, all as per the prompt. Also, Pansy, who wasn’t prompted, but deserves a warning label nonetheless. Otherwise, there's a bit of dirty-ish sex and some entirely made up potions theory.
Disclaimer: Harry Potter characters are the property of J.K. Rowling and Bloomsbury/Scholastic. No profit is being made, and no copyright infringement is intended.
Notes: Thanks to the mods for their patience with me. (xx
appleling. And cookies to
icicle33 who beta'd this beastie. You are amazing and I love you.) To
omi_ohmy, who went WAY above and beyond the call of duty, first with the cheerleading, then the pre-reading and finally a wee bit of britpicking so I could get my insults just right.

And I can claim A Dream of Waking as mine. ♥♥
Huge thanks to
I'll post notes and work on transferring it when I'm not on my phone *cough*
Okay, only like 400 words (exactly, huh, what're the odds of that) but it's something! whee!

I'm also eagerly awaiting B!Draco reveals. I'm very proud of it, and I can't wait until I'm able to respond to the commenters who were all so very lovely.

Title: Draco’s Last Important Task
Author:
marianna_merlo
Adapted from: Goldilocks and the Three Bears
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Various/Draco
Summary: Being a virgin in Eighth Year is just not okay. But finding someone to have sex with is harder than Draco had imagined.
Word Count: 8,200
Rating: NC-17
Contains: ** Flangst, Silliness verging on crack **
Notes: CRACKTASTIC. Completely utterly silly and delightful and... gah, I don't even. Hysterically funny.
Title: Harry Potter Gives a Shit
Author:
talithan
Adapted from: Queer as Folk
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Harry/Others
Summary: “Where are you headed?”
“No place special,” Draco fumbled, and flushed further.
But then:
“I can change that,” said Harry Potter.
Word Count: ~58,000 words
Rating: NC-17
Contains: ** drug and alcohol abuse, bisexuality (and accordingly, references to het sex), elements of PTSD **
Notes: I'm not familiar going into this with QAF (I know I know, I should comment on what I *am* familiar with, the list is shorter) but this monster made me groan when I saw the word count (HARD keeping up with fests, especially when presented with longfic) but this was wonderful. It stood alone as a solid-seeming HD story, though differently presented than normal (usually you see slut!Draco/relationshippy!Harry, whereas this one wielded slut!Harry/relationshippy!Draco in a believable way that felt canony. There's plot, and it's good plot. There's LOTS of sex (which reminds me of Unhook the Stars (my rec post here links my thoughts on that) which is a GOOD comparison) and it's very hot, and the story itself is a lovely love story and... yeah.

Title: The Angel and the Serpent
Artist:
awickedmemory
Adapted from: Good Omens
Pairing: Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy
Summary: Angel Harryphale and the demon... Dracoley?
Art Medium: Paper, pen
Rating: G
Notes: I prompted this totally on a whim, and oddly (for me) intending art because the idea struck but I had *no idea* how to go about ficcing it. Apparently the Mysterious Artist of Mystery and I were thinking along the same lines... or something. Anyway, it is adorable and amazing and I laughed and coo'ed at the same time looking at it.
Also, couple non-HD's here. I just really enjoyed the non-HDs this week. *boggle*
Title: Some Luck Lies
Author:
fantasyfiend09
Adapted from: Legally Blonde (2001)
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: Draco planned to go to the Auror Academy to get his man back. Draco may have changed since the war, but the success rate of his plans has not.
Word Count: 13,500
Rating: PG-13
Notes: This was very cute. As is my battlecry for this fest, I have no experience with the original source, but this was a stand-alone well-told Auror!fic that was just... just all kinds of fun and adorable. Harry trying to catch Draco's eye from the beginning was super sweet, and I love my Draco fussy and high-maintenance.
Title: We’re All Mad
Author:
gamma_x_orionis
Adapted from: Alice in Wonderland – “A Mad Tea Party”
Pairing: Bellatrix/Draco, Luna/Draco (ish…)
Summary: Draco is at his aunt’s mercy, forced to do as she wishes him to, and if she wishes to give him to Luna Lovegood, he has no power to say no.
Word Count: ~2 300
Rating: R
Contains: ** Non-con, forced drug use, dominant!Bellatrix, het!content (though with a severe lack of actual sex) **
Notes: Good lord this fic. First of all, this is a DH-era dark!fic. Second, no HD even implied if you squint funny. Totally not my usual thing, but it's perspective just works and echoes the Mad Tea Party from Carroll in ways that are both obvious and frighteningly subtle. This is just an amazing piece.
Title: Seasons Change, And So Do We
Author:
calrissian18
Adapted from: Myth of Persephone
Pairing: Voldemort/Draco
Summary: The Malfoy boy is sixteen when he burns the Mark into him. It’s almost more than he can bear; marking something his that isn’t quite.
Word Count: ~6,000
Rating: NC-17
Contains: ** Possible Dubious Consent – Voldemort makes a deal for Draco, Minor Character Death, Language **
Notes: Yeah, #2 for shit I don't normally read. I don't like Voldie. But he makes a DAMNED good Hades, and his obsession with and worship of Draco (youth, purity (of blood and flesh and appearance), everything he doesn't have) just... worked. This is also tagged dark!fic, and... it is. I don't personally see the first bit of the warning as applicable as Draco is always firmly in the driver's seat controlling the relationship. And for all that it's filled with death, it is strangely sweet and romantic at the same time.

Title: Les Enfants Terribles
Author:
thusspakekate
Adapted from: Dangerous Liaisons/Cruel Intentions
Pairing: Harry/Draco. With side helpings of Draco/Pansy, Blaise/Pansy, Harry/OMC, Draco/Luna, Luna/Neville, Neville/Pansy, and mentions of Draco/Others. Everyone kind of gets around in this universe.
Summary: Revenge is a dish best served cold.
Word Count: 31,000
Rating: NC-17
Contains: **An epistolary format and unreliable narrator, an AU where Voldemort stays dead and Harry grows up abroad, Draco involved in depraved acts of heterosexuality, mentions of (mild) top!draco, a discomforting treatment of gender politics, and * major character death like whoa.* **
Notes: This one sat in my to-read pile until yesterday. It was open on my phone (where I do 100% of my reading) from when it posted. I kept looking, then tabbing away because I knew it would be good *eyes suspected MA* but knew my poor lil hormonally-challenged self couldn't handle it. Especially since I knew the original's ending. And yes, if you're familiar, this one does the same. But it HURTS SO GOOD, gah. I'm glad I finally bit the bullet and read it. It's doubtless going to be a fest favorite for me.
Title: Draco Malfoy’s Diary
Author/Artist:
writcraft
Adapted from: Bridget Jones’ Diary (an amalgamation of the book and the film)
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Theo/Draco, past Harry/Ginny
Summary: Draco Malfoy decides that this year will be different. He will stand up to his father, stop getting irritated with his mother, give up smoking and find a suitable man. He chronicles his success (or lack thereof) in a diary.
Word Count/Medium: ~11,800 words, GIMP 2.0, Wacom Tablet
Rating: R
Contains: ** Infidelity (not between Harry/Draco) **
Notes: I'm late to the game with this one cause it's been recced everywhere. It deserves it. It was an amazingly fun fic (which I *got* because it seemed in a lot of ways this is the first fic based on a relatively recent source I was familiar with the original for) with a lot of little touches that made me go "oh that's just like X or Y" and feel all proud of myself for not treating something like an original piece. >.> But yeah, it was pretty awesome even without my failsquee. ;)

At what point does one consider themselves a writer?
No, no, hear me out. I promise this isn't just another trip down "Marianne goes Emo" lane again. But really.
Because the way I see it... You can be a reader who writes, or I'm pretty certain a writer who reads. You can be both, but if you've one word to describe yourself, your presence in fandom, whatever, which one do you choose?
Is it what you spend the most time doing?
What you spend the most time enjoying?
What you feel most comfortable with?
What you feel most challenged by?
Is it aspirational?
Does it really matter?
I mean, I like writing, even though I feel like I have no idea what I'm doing 99% of the time. It's fun, and it's something that, dear god I miss right now. *peeks over to make sure baby is still asleep*
But I don't consider myself a writer. I don't think of myself as a writer. I don't have wordcount goals for the day (I didn't even when I had time to use words) and I don't have the *need* to write or go crazy that several of my friends (in fandom and out) have described.
I'm a fangirl. I'm a reader. (Even though I've been falling behind in that as well. Consider this my official "fandom overload has overloaded" notice. With few exceptions, remix and bdraco have been skipped if they're over ~6k words) That doesn't mean I don't write, it's just that I feel I have a long way to go and a lot of practice needed to consider myself a writer. If I ever do.
I don't know. Nowhere really going with this other than "god I miss writing" feelings bumping up against tiredloopiness and pokings at HolsFicVersion1. (Which I almost posted a bit of last week... sleep deprivation is usually sends me to the keyboard. Oddly, it was the read-through, seeing the bits I was proud of making the bits that need obvious editing stand out even more that stopped me. Evidently even when sleep deprived, I love it too much to send it out to the wild without a beta.)

Title: A Portrait of the Artist Undone
Author:
mypetelephant
Adapted from: The Picture of Dorian Gray
Pairing: Harry/Draco, Theo/Draco, Harry/Theo…but never quite Harry/Draco/Theo. Mentions of Draco/Astoria
Summary: "To influence a person is to give him one's own soul."—The Picture of Dorian Gray
Word Count: 3800
Rating: NC-17
Contains: **Major character death. Minor character suicide.**
Notes: Okay, this fic. THIS FIC GUYS. It took my breath away, made me cry, and immediately made me want to re-read the source (which I often forget about due to my love of Importance of Being Earnest.) It's fabulous, but mind the warnings-- it's DEFINITELY a darkfic.
Title: Haste Thee Away
Author:
evilgiraff
Adapted from: Little Red Riding Hood
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: Deathly Hallows AU. It's dangerous to walk in the woods at full moon. This is a retelling of Little Red Riding Hood; a grim fairy tale of fear and courage.
Word Count: 16k
Rating: PG-13
Contains: **Scenes of torture (use of unforgivable curse) and some bloodshed.**
Notes: This was FABULOUS, and not just because it's from my prompt. Seriously, this MA took what I'd prompted (Little Red Riding Hood, dark-ish, DH-AU taking place at the Manor during the Snatchers incident) and went wild. In the best way possible. It was totally unexpected, beyond anything I could have thought of. The Death Eaters were all human as opposed to caricatures, and the werewolf lore felt true to something that *could* exist in canon.
Title: Where Your Treasure Lies
Author:
queenie_mab
Adapted from: What Dreams May Come
Pairing: Harry/Draco
Summary: "The girl survived, Harry," Dumbledore said kindly. "You saved her from the fire and died a hero as you were always meant to."
"But I didn't mean to," Harry whispered, horrified. "Draco, he needs me … I promised …"
Word Count: 21,000
Rating: NC-17
Contains: **Major Character Death (Harry and Draco), Minor Character Death (children), mentions of switching and suicide. I've taken liberties with canon ages for Scorpius and Teddy.**
Notes: This made me cry. I wasn't familiar with the source (other than "that Robin Williams movie where he's in that dreamscape in the trailers"). First of all, check the warnings; the warnings that happen are for the most part obvious in the first paragraphs, or in the adaptation itself if you're familiar with it. This is a death-fic. Or, more specifically, an after-death fic. For all that, it's a sentimental lovestory told through flashbacks as Harry and Draco fall in love, raise kids, suffer loss, and fight to recover. It's beautifully told (and the sex is pretty smoking).

Title: A Healthy Obsession
Author:
fantasyfiend09
Summary: During their eighth year Harry feels that Draco is up to something again. Ducking when he sees Harry, having his meals taken to his room, and even the leaving the pitch when he comes out. Harry can't believe Draco decides to be up to something again. However, during their confrontation he's surprised to know that Draco isn't up to something. He's avoiding Harry because Harry is his mate and he doesn't want to mate with someone who hates him. Harry goes to set things right... I would for Harry's attempts to fail at first before Draco accepts him.
Word Count: 7,000
Rating: NC-17
Notes: This was adorable. Paranoid!Harry and Pining!Veela!Draco are always a lot of fun, and determined!Harry is always quite yummy. This fic has all the above in spades.
Title: The Ugly Duckling
Author:
icmezzo
Summary: Draco is all atwitter when he wakes up on his birthday with a few unexpected feathers. Suspecting foul play, he enlists Harry to help him get rid of his unfortunate birden—er, burden.
Word Count: ~16.5k
Rating: NC-17
Notes: Adding my +1 to everyone else talking about this. Hysterically funny, emo!Draco, pining!Harry, oblivious both of them to each other... And of course filled to the brim with HORRIBLE HORRIBLE PUNS. Which are lovely. Perfect light-touch fluff fic.

[remix]
Title: The Beginning and the End (and After)
Author:
sdkshelly
Summary: Harry touched Draco with such familiarity, as if he'd been doing it for years, as if it was nothing—and yet it was everything. Based on Later, in fragments by
megyal
Word Count: 3130 words
Rating: R
Warnings: semi-explicit sex, flangst
Notes: Secret-Relationship / misunderstandings fic. Perfect kind of remix, fits the original completely and gives the impression of telling the rest of the story. Lovely.
Title: Familial Predilections
Author:
queenie_mab
Summary: Lucius Malfoy has always been proud of his resilience, though the measures he takes to ensure his survival come at a price. He doesn’t realise exactly how much he stands to lose until a letter intended for Draco opens his eyes. Based on Phantom of Mine by
aj_socks
Word Count: ~8500
Rating: NC-17
Warnings: Written from Lucius Malfoy’s POV. The warnings (under the black) may frighten some readers off, but all dark subjects are not titillating, focusing instead on the mentality behind the action. In no way are the squickier of the warnings presented in a manner that promotes them.**hilight** Rape, Incest, Pedophilia, Major Character Death (not Harry or Draco), Suicide, Murder, Child Abduction**hilight**
Notes: A hard remix, mixing a hard fic. The original was heartbreaking and somewhat disjointed, leaving you questioning as much as Draco what is real. This remix, told from Lucius' perspective, was a very brave choice on all fronts. It does not make him sympathetic, but you still feel his pain as much as you feel the pain he inflicts. Completely heartbreaking.

Yes yes I know. So very last month of me. So going to get this out there: Both
bottom_draco and
hd_remix are posting and they're FANTABULOUS. But I'm gonna try and get a couple minutes (while I have a couple minutes) and play catchup for kinkfest and do_me_veela stuffs.
Kinkfest
Gah, no time for DMV recs, will have to do those in another post later... *fistshake*
Kinkfest
[Kinkfest]
First off, odd for me, but an art rec because it pushed all my buttons:
Title: Open Your Mouth
Artist: citrus_lime
Kink Showcased: dacryphilia (aroused by crying or the display of intense emotion)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco
Summary: Harry loves Draco. Harry loves Draco's tears.
Warnings/Content Notes: Blowjob, tears, come on face.
Notes: I don't know what to say beyond "this pushed all my buttons" but.. yeah. It did. *fans self*
Title: An Idiot's Guide to Crossing the Road
Author: who_la_hoop
Kink Showcased: Uniform kink (lollipop person/crossing guard)
Rating: NC17
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco, Harry/Draco/Snape
Summary: Snape can't really be alive . . . can he? But why is someone with his face lurking about around a certain lollipop lady? When Harry and Draco discover the truth, it's possible their lives will never be the same again.
Content Notes/Warnings: EWE. Live!Snape (being dead puts a crimp on your sex life, after all). H/D established relationship. Sort of public sex. Threesome. Unattractive uniforms. Mild spanking. Wanking. Blow jobs. Bad jokes.
Word Count: ~10,000
Notes: A perfect combination of hot and funny of the sort who_la_hoop seems to do so very very well.
Title: Spanking Malfoy
Author: marianna_merlo
Kink Showcased: Spanking
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry Potter/Draco Malfoy
Summary: Of course, nothing is simple with Draco Malfoy, and Harry wonders why he ever thought it would be.
Warnings/Content Notes: Mention of past corporal punishment
Word Count: ~ 6,500
Notes: Spanking fic. Exactly as stated. Again, a nice bit of hot PWP that isn't quite Plot-less. :)
Title: And Twice On Sundays
Author: lokifan
Kink Showcased: voyeurism/humiliation/masturbation
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco
Summary: Harry catches Draco in the act and makes him finish what he started.
Warnings: minor D/s, consensual humiliation
Word Count: ~1900
Notes: This IS a perfect bit of hot PWP, again hitting most of my buttons.
Title: A Princely Scent
Author: birdsofshore
Kink Showcased: Armpit / sweat fetish (maschalagnia, apparently - who knew?)
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry / Draco, Draco / other characters (in fantasy only)
Summary: An underarm is so delightfully clandestine, a truly secret little area of the body, almost shockingly sexual when finally revealed.
Warnings/Content Notes: mild voyeurism, light bondage, frottage, wanking, and a blow job
Word Count: ~5000
Notes: I read this because it was a Birds fic. I don't get the armpit thing (and I'm not certain I do even now) but I DO get the Draco-is-so-entranced-he-can't-help-hims elf thing. Which is insanely hot.
Title: Green
Author: sara_holmes
Kink Showcased: jealousy/promiscuity
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco
Summary: “But here he is, finally looking at Harry, finally close and open and willing, and Harry has never wanted him more. Has never wanted to be further from him.”
Word Count: 5000
Notes: Holy shit. This fic. I was torn the entire time between thinking to myself "self, this fic is the hottest shit you've read in ever" and "Oh god the FEELS I FEEL THEM"
Title: By The Numbers
Author: mindabbles
Kink Showcased: Multiple orgasms
Rating: NC-17
Pairing(s): Harry/Draco
Summary: Harry Potter doesn't turn twenty-one every day.
Warnings/Content Notes: Nothing that the prompt, "multiple orgasms" doesn't imply, expect perhaps a tiny bit of playful bondage.
Word Count: 8,300
Notes: This fic scared me going into it. But the ocd-ish Draco is one of my favorites, and the entire fic is so... sweet and romantic for being so detailed and planned and... guh. The feels again.

quickly jumping in, Beth is 2wk tomorrow, I'm alive (kinda) and keeping myself together (again, kinda).
But remix is posting! (yay!)
And B!Draco is posting! (yay!)
So I have reading I can do in my non-existent free time.
(Hoping to try and manage *some* kind of rec post for kinkfest/do_me_veela, but it's 7:50, Bug is dropping off and Beth is asleep on daddy which means I'm about to crash out here myself. So it'll have to wait.)

Mon at latest became Sat morning. Elizabeth Hope.
I apparently can't use the old-style posting anymore? not even an option? Fail, LJ. Fail.
Well, since I've now prompted for Smoochfest (Hey guys, go prompt for Smoochfest!) and am getting all emo because I'd rather be WRITING for smoochfest, I guess I should do my official Hiatus from Fandom post.
So, yeah. Baby will be here Monday-at-the-latest. This is my official hiatus from fandom, for likely at least 6 mos.
I'll still be reading and commenting as I'm able from my phone. If you need me otherwise, I've left information locked on how to get ahold of me. (And if you want to friend to GET that information, just drop me a line.)
Have fun, guys! I'll miss you all! (And I'll try and get something out in the next couple weeks as a "hey I'm alive" after baby arrives.)
